About Me

I am Melissa Bulman and I go to Victor High School. I have a family of six people and I love soccer and lacrosse. I hope to go to college for art and become an interior designer. I love to draw, paint and play sports and hope in college to do both things I love. I love many designers my favorite one would have to be Kerry Joyce I love her style and how she spaces out her furniture. Also my parents inspire my work and support me. I hope that my blog helps to get my art work out there and so many other people have the chance to enjoy it as well.

Scale Model

  1. What is a scale model?
  2. What are the two types of scale models?
  3. What are the advantages and limitations of a working scale model?
  4. What are the advantages and limitations of a professional/presentation model?
  5. What scale models are we going to make?
1) A full scaled model is complete representation of some object that is larger or smaller than the object in real life. Usually is a smaller scaled model than the original and used as a guide to help make the object full size.

2) There is two types of models, one is a study model/working models which is created fast just to see the nature of the design. The other model would a presentation model this model is finished and fully developed this one has amazing details and is a very high level of work.

3) Advantages:
  •  Elevations can be moved and taped into place as needed for study and reviewed
  •  Uses drawing skills as an aid in model making
  • Can be dismantled and stored flat for easy transportation
   Limitations:
  • Does not show design details as accurately as presentation models
  • Less realistic in terms of space than the other models
4) Advantages:
  •  Shows design details such as finishes; colors; materials; textures
  • Gives a highly accurate representation of the space
    Limitations:
  • Costly to create
  • Time intensive
  • Requires expensive tool
  • Most often created by model making terms of professionals
5)  We are making a working model for the whole apartment and then a presentation model for one or two rooms in the apartment.
